Sincerity

First of all, Have an "Eid mubarak" to our Muslim friends! May the celebration motivates everyone to forgive each other and to be sincere.

Speaking of which, I once was given a project of an illustration strips for a short story about goodwill. I thought it'll be an inspiring one to share, so, here it goes:
One day, there was a poor kid outside a ice cream shop, stopping by just to check on his favorite ice cream. With a small amount of money in his pocket, he got in to the shop.

When he got to choose which flavor he wanted, he took quite a time to decide it. Thus, leaving the rest of the queue, especially the shop assistant peeved.

Even though he could opt for the pricier type of ice cream with the money he had, he finally chose the cheaper one instead. He rushed to a nearby table and enjoyed his ice cream, leaving the shop assistant still in anger.

He went away as soon as he finished his last spoonful of ice cream. The shop assistant was about to clean his table when she found some money tip left on the table. She eventually realized the reason why the boy insisted to get the cheaper ice cream while he could easily spend the money on the pricey one was to share with her some of his happiness.

It always got me thinking that today, we are so overloaded with whatever the media could feed us, especially with the rising number of any sort of crime reported on the news. As a result, subconsciously, we might start to lose our faith on believing in someone's goodwill. There's nothing wrong with being watchful though, just keep in mind that we have to learn how to appreciate every benevolence in the first place :)
